One debate Fiance and I have had recently – to look or not to look? Would it be worth it to see each other before the wedding, or did we want to wait until I walked down the aisle?
I can see the pro’s and con’s of each.
If we saw each other before we would have the opportunity to have a special moment (caught on film of course) just the two of us. It would help calm any day of nerves and allow us to get some pictures out of the way earlier to enjoy the rest of our day.
On the flip side – we have a block of time in between the ceremony and reception, so we don’t need to get pictures out of the way in order to enjoy our reception. The traditional part of me loves the emotion of seeing each other for the first time at the end of the aisle.
Fiance was against the idea of seeing each other before the wedding. So we came up with a compromise – the ‘non’ first look – where we will be photographed together before the wedding – without seeing each other first.
Even though we won’t see each other before the wedding, it will be so nice to be able to hold Fiance’s hand in anticipation of seeing him at the end of the aisle. Hopefully he’ll be filled with happiness and emotion when I do get to see him.
I must share that the couple in the last picture did do a first look – and still had such emotion during the walk down the aisle as well. Goes to show you there is no right or wrong way to go when it comes to the first look!
What are your thoughts on the first look?
